Paintless Dent Repair in Export, PA
The finish your vehicle left the factory wearing is better than anything that can be sprayed onto it afterward. It was baked onto bare metal at a temperature no auto body shop can use once the interior and the wiring are installed. Every argument for paintless dent repair follows from that one fact.
How it is actually done
A technician gets behind the panel, through a window channel, a light housing, or an access hole, and pushes the low spot up in very small increments while reading a striped light board reflected off the surface. The board is the instrument. A dent invisible to the naked eye distorts those stripes obviously, so the technician is watching the reflection rather than the metal.
It is slow, quiet, patient work, and the result is that the dent stops existing without a drop of paint entering the process.
Where it works
Shallow to moderate dents with the paint unbroken, on a panel with access behind it, away from a hard body line. Door dings from the lot at the Murrysville plaza. A shopping cart. A knee. Small hail.
Where it does not
If the paint cracked, the repair needs refinishing regardless, so the advantage disappears. Sharp creases, dents on a panel edge, damage over a brace or a foam block, and heavily work-hardened aluminum are all outside what the technique can do well. Anyone promising a paintless fix on a cracked panel is going to hand you back a repair that looks worse than the dent.
We will tell you which side of that line you are on before you commit.
